Club Captains

Our Senior Club Captains for 2012 are Nick and Vita and new for 2012 we now have two Junior Club Captains - Adina and Jake.  Here’s your chance to find out more about them.

I’m Nick, I’m 17 years old and I’m your new senior club captain. I’ve been in the club for 6 years and have taken part in numerous galas both within the club and at county and regional levels. I’m in the performance squad so mostly train at Tottenham Green but am also at Park Road at least once a week, so feel free to ask any questions as I value your opinions or if you need help tackling a problem and I will help as best I can.

As club captain I would like to improve further on the amazing progress that Haringey has made recently while still retaining our club’s friendly yet competitive atmosphere. I would like to take the opportunity to once again thank every one who voted for me, and I hope to live up to the reputations of previous captains and make the club proud.

Thank you everyone who voted for me; I am so happy to be the senior club captain of Haringey Aquatics. I have been in the club for four years now and during that time I have seen some fantastic captains that have helped me get the most out of my time in Haringey Aquatics. As club captain I hope to help you have an amazing time in this amazing club!

Vita.

Hello my name is Adina, I am 11 years old, and have been with the club for three years. I would like to thank all those who voted for me.

I started in learn to swim when I was about 6 ½ years old and became a squad member when I was 8 years old.  I enjoy training and it has been a good experience because I have been able to take part in a variety of galas.

What I like about swimming is it gives me the opportunity to meet other swimmers and make new friends, it makes me active and most of all it is fun. My favourite swimming strokes are butterfly and front crawl.

As Junior Club Captain I will give younger swimmers advice, supporting and cheering swimmers when they are at galas and helping them to feel confident and focused before they race.

I have been with the club for 6 years and also learnt my basic skills of swimming with the Learn to Swim programme which was great fun. I have trained really hard and am now competing in many galas ranging from the Davy Trophy to the Arena League. I would like to share my knowledge of swimming with those that may not have been with the club for very long. I look forward to encouraging all swimmers at future galas whether I am chosen to swim or not.!

Jake
